Meet Our Church Staff
 |
Our Pastor: The Rev.
Dr. David Bybee has been our pastor since November 2003. A native of
Illinois, he received his Master of Divinity degree from McCormick
Theological Seminary in Chicago. His Doctor of Ministry was received
from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. Prior to coming
to this church, Dr. Bybee pastored Presbyterian churches in Illinois,
Texas, and Kansas. He also did mission work overseas. His wife, Heidi,
and two daughters are actively involved in the ministry of the church. |

Member Care and
Concern: The Rev. Allan Sturtevant, a native of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, is a graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary. He
was our Temporary Supply Pastor from August 2001 through November 2003,
and he has also pastored other Presbyterian churches in California,
Iowa, Illinois, and Arizona. His wife, Sue, is actively involved in the
work of the church. |

Director of
Business/Church Ministry: Ellen Kendig came on staff in October
2004. A native of Hastings, Nebraska, she is a long-time member of the
church. She was a school secretary at Starline Elementary School and she
has worked in various other capacities in the Lake Havasu School
District. |

Church Secretary:
Barbara Masden came on staff in May 2006. She is a long-time member of
the church and has lived in Lake Havasu City since September 1971. Now a
widow, Barbara was a stay-at-home Mom for many years. She has 4 children
and has worked and volunteered in various capacities in the city. |

Ministry Assistant:
Heidi Bybee joined the church staff in October 2004. She works with the
Christian Education Team, arranges and leads the praise band's music,
creates
the projection presentations for worship services, is involved with
the women’s ministry, and assists in other areas. Born and raised in
Michigan, she received her Associate Degree from Lake Michigan College
and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Siena Heights University. Heidi has
held various administrative assistant positions including one in
Switzerland where she lived for almost eight years. She cherishes her
past experiences with Youth With a Mission volunteering on their Mercy
Ships and completing a Discipleship Training School and Outreach in
Egypt. |

Choir & Bell Choir Director:
Steve Wayman became our choir director in September 2005. A graduate of
Northern Arizona University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Education and a minor in music, he is a music educator at Starline
Elementary School. Although he grew up in the Phoenix area, his family
moved to Pinetop-Lakeside while he was in high school and there he began
singing in a gospel trio with his mother and sister. Entering NAU on a
vocal scholarship, planning to study vocal music with an emphasis in
church music, he interrupted his studies when the church music program
was cut. He sang at the Presley Theater in Branson, Missouri, for
several years in the 90’s and also worked with a record company in
Nashville before he returned to NAU to continue his education. Besides
singing, he also enjoys playing the guitar and trumpet. |

Organist:
Doug Los has been a professional instrumental musician, teacher
director, composer/arranger, clinician, and a conductor of music. A high
school band and choir director from 1963-1980 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
and from 1980-2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada; he has a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Music Education and a Master of Science Degree in Music Theory
and Composition from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has been
an accompanist for various churches, schools, community choirs and
soloists, and he has directed and sung in a number of church choirs.
Doug is presently involved with several community musical groups; he
plays tuba, euphonium, trombone, bass viol, organ and piano. In the
summer of 2003, he began playing for our church services on a part-time
basis; he became our full-time organist in September 2005. |
