Thaddeus
Thaddeus was probably a
nickname denoting
devotion or endearment.
The gospel writers of
Luke and John identify
him as Judas (not
Iscariot). He is
credited with having
brought the gospel to
Armenia by his
preaching, establishing
new churches, working of
miracles, and appointing
bishops and deacons. A
small sailing ship
symbolizes his
missionary journeys to
Syria, Arabia and
Mesopotamia. |
